Delete your SimAbroad account
You can delete your account and its data at any time, from the app, from the website or by email. You don't need to sign in to read this page.
How to delete it
- In the app: Open the SimAbroad app on iPhone or Android, go to Account, then Settings, and tap Delete account.
- On the website: Sign in at simabroad.com, open your account page and choose Delete my account at the bottom.
- By email: Write to support@simabroad.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We reply to confirm it's you, then delete it.
Before you delete
- Deleting is permanent and can't be undone.
- An eSIM already on your phone keeps working until its plan ends, but you won't see it in an account anymore.
- If you own a business workspace, archived or not, first transfer ownership to another admin in the workspace settings. Deleting the account would also delete the workspace with its invoices and records, so until then the account can't be deleted. If there's no one to transfer it to, write to support@simabroad.com.
- If an order is still being paid for or set up, wait until it's done. If we couldn't deliver the eSIM of an order in the last 7 days, or you have an open support request or refund, our team sorts it out first, so write to support@simabroad.com. An order that failed longer ago, with nothing open, doesn't stop the deletion: it's kept in anonymous form for tax like any other order, so if you want a refund for it, write to us before you delete the account.
- If you work at SimAbroad as an admin, moderator or support agent, the account can't be deleted from the app or the website. Write to support@simabroad.com and our team deletes it for you. The record of what you did on other people's accounts and orders is kept.
What we delete
- Your sign-in and profile: name, email, password, passkeys and sessions.
- Push notification tokens for your devices.
- Flights you added in the app.
- Your usage alerts and auto top-up settings.
- Any Roams and referral credit you haven't used. Your referral code stops working.
- Your conversations with the SimAbroad assistant.
- Live chats with our support team that you started while signed in.
- Usage analytics, clicks on our offers and business pages, error reports and security log entries linked to your account, with their IP address and browser details.
- Your entries in our sign-in log, with your email, name and IP address, and the record of attempts to open your orders by link.
- Our marketing and reminder emails to your address with their history, your newsletter subscription, review requests and any reviews you wrote.
- Trip Groups you organize, with their cards and invite links.
- If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke SimAbroad's access to your Apple ID.
What we keep, and for how long
- Orders and payment records, including guest orders placed with your email. We keep the amount, plan, dates, Stripe payment references and the card brand and last 4 digits. Your name, IP address, device and card fingerprints, wallet address, order notes and the trip or pack names you gave your orders are removed, also from the earlier copies of each order in our audit log, and your email is replaced by an anonymous placeholder. Tax law requires us to keep these records for 7 years.
- Top-ups and auto top-ups you paid for (amount and Stripe payment reference), no longer linked to you, kept with the eSIM for the same 7 years. Your email is removed from the top-up description in our records; our eSIM supplier keeps its own copy of older top-ups.
- The eSIMs on those orders (ICCID and data usage), no longer linked to you and without recipient names, recipient emails or nicknames, kept with the orders. An eSIM you gave to someone who saved it to their own account stays as it is for them, with their name, their email and its nickname. An eSIM you gave to someone who hasn't saved it yet keeps their name and email, so they can still save it to their account, and loses only its nickname.
- An eSIM someone else bought for you stays with that buyer's order. If you saved it to your account, your name and email are removed from it. If you never saved it, it keeps your email as the recipient until you ask us to remove it.
- For crypto payments, your email is replaced too. The sending wallet address stays in the payment record, because the payment is on the public blockchain anyway.
- Support tickets you sent, which keep your email and what you wrote, until you ask us to remove them.
- Live chats you started while signed out, which keep the email you gave in the chat, and chats on Crisp, our support chat provider, which Crisp keeps, until you ask us to remove them.
- If you were a member of a business workspace or on a company's employee list, the company's records keep the email you were added with, so they stay complete, until you ask us to remove it.
- Records of referral credit and Roams you earned or spent. Every unused amount is cancelled. These records can only be added to, never edited, so they keep the email they were issued to and balances and refunds stay correct, until you ask us to remove them. Referral rewards and your old referral code stay for refund checks, with your email replaced by an anonymous placeholder.
- In a Trip Group someone else organizes, the name and email you joined with stay in that group's member list until you ask us to remove them.
- If you sent a creator program submission, it stays with its Instagram link and any payout record, no longer linked to you, until you ask us to remove it.
- If you unsubscribed or an email to you bounced, your address stays on our do-not-email list, so we never write to it again. The IP address and browser you unsubscribed from are removed.
- Usage analytics recorded while you were signed out were never linked to your account, so we can't tell they are yours. They are deleted automatically after 12 months.
- Stripe, our payment processor, keeps its own payment records under its privacy policy. We never store your full card number.
To have your support tickets, guest chats, Crisp chats, company records, referral records, eSIMs others sent you or your name in other people's Trip Groups removed as well, say so in your email to support@simabroad.com and we remove everything the law lets us remove.
